DESCRIPTION:The Coletivo RPU Brasil (Brazil UPR Collective) is a coalition
  of 31 entities\, networks\, and collectives\nfrom Brazilian civil society
 . Since its creation in 2017\, the coalition has been monitoring human rig
 hts\nin the country through the United Nations Universal Periodic Review (
 UPR) mechanism. In 2019\, it\nprepared its first Mid-Term Report. In 2020\
 , due to the new coronavirus pandemic\, the Coletivo RPU\nBrasil chose to 
 formulate a new report\, entitled “Civil society report: Universal Perio
 dic Review of\nHuman Rights in the Context of Covid-19”. The goal of the
  report was to denounce an escalation in\nhuman rights violations that hav
 e already been evidenced by the group\, as well as record new\nviolations 
 that occurred at this time of institutional\, health and economic crises d
 ue to – but not\nonly – the Covid-19 pandemic.\nFollowing the effort t
 o participate in the UPR as a Collective\, from 2021 to 2022 we prepared 1
 1\nreports between the 3rd and 4th cycles\, in which we evaluated the 242 
 recommendations accepted\nby the Brazilian State in 2017.\nFrom August 29t
 h to September 2nd\, our group will be in Geneva with a delegation of Braz
 ilian\norganizations. The goal is to participate in the Pre-Session organi
 zed by UPR -Info and conduct a\nseries of visibility and advocacy activiti
 es with the countries’ diplomatic delegations\, based on the\nreports pr
 epared by the Coletivo RPU Brasil. It will also be a time to show the inte
 rnational\ncommunity the violence and human rights violations we have been
  experiencing in Brazil in recent\nyears.
